From the Garden
I was washing the dishes on Friday and something caught my eye. I looked up and saw these two Rosellas on the other side of the kitchen window feasting on seed pods from the Chinese Elm tree.
Easter Activities
Alex and I decided to try dying some eggs for this Easter. We thought it was best to do it outside. The colours were so intense and we tried a few rainbow coloured variations. Some eggs had a slightly speckled effect which was really pretty.
We didn't want to waste the food colouring so Alex made a few pictures by blowing the colours around with a straw. They will make lovely cards one day.

From the Garden
The last of the Belladonna Lilies.
We have had many birds in the garden lately, mainly rosellas, honey eaters and the little spotted birds which we first noticed a few months back.
Fun at the Show
This last weekend we visited our local agricultural show.
The flowers were so beautiful.
A local wildlife rescue group was there with four young kangaroos and two baby ring tail possums. The sweet joey above had a badly damaged leg but he was quite comfortable in his woollen blanket pouch. The possum below was one of two found on a road only three days earlier.
The boys had a great time but their favourite thing of all was the laser skirmish.

Latest Fabric Swatches
These swatches from Spoonflower arrived recently. The first collection of the two is
'A tale of two elephants'.
The swatches below are from the third colourway of Japanese Cameo. They will be up for sale in my Spoonflower shop very soon and we are going to be working on some bags, pouches and cushions.
From the Garden
When I walked out the back door the other day and saw a black cockatoo in the banksia tree I noticed these new flowers. As it is about 17 years old most of the flowers are high of the ground so I decided to climb a ladder to take these photos and pick just one for inside.
Fabulous Finds
Mum dropped a few little treasures in to me yesterday. The first is two Palissy dishes she found at a garage sale for $1.00. She also gave me a tin that my grandmother kept old photos in.

Crochet Projects
I have been working on my crochet owls for a fair at our local school coming up in April. They now have wings and the girl owls have little ear feathers. I have found crochet is so relaxing and so great to work on while waiting for the boys at after school activities and swimming.
These are a few little flowers I may make into hair accessories. Hundreds of them would look sweet sewn together to make a small blanket.
From the Garden
From my parents garden actually. As I have not watered the garden regularly and it seems like it has only rained twice in the last three months, there is not a lot flowering here. These are some of the plants flowering in Mum's garden, the majority of flowers at the moment are shades of pink.
At the back of their yard is a vegetable garden and then on the other side of the fence is a creek with beautiful big gum trees. They look lovely in the late afternoon light and often there are flocks of cockatoos and other birds.
